Laminex Forecast 2020

Hi All, You’ll have noticed over the past 3 to 4 blog posts I’ve been focussing on new trends and forecasts in my industry. It’s that time of year when we start looking to 2020 and what trends in design we might see coming through, what might continue and also what might get left behind.

I mentioned the Laminex trend forecast a couple of posts back, if you missed it you can catch up here. I touched on 1 of their 4 trends, In the Shallows as I was referring to the new wave of colour in joinery and the shift to these beautiful soft greens and warmer timber tones. So I thought I would give you a round up of all 4 colour palette’s for 2020, all have similarities but are quite different too.

IN THE SHALLOWS

To finish up on this scheme, here not surprisingly we are talking about a direct connection with nature. A rich and raw palette of greens, browns and darker woodgrains are key here, the perfect balance of water and land. As you know this is my favourite of the 4, these colours are so easy to live with for long periods of time and deliver a really calm balanced interior.

CALM

Dreamy colours that give us a place to pause and recharge. This has a strong connection to In The Shallows, I think you could mix the 2 palette’s very easily. Calm colours have a faded quality about them, they are muted, chalky and have a universal appeal.

DEEP BELOW

This is a palette of dark colours, very different to the previous 2 schemes. This celebrates resilience and inner strength in a time of turmoil in this world. Confident combinations such as deep blues, greens and purples are at the core of this scheme. Smokey hues and deep woodgrains all support these bolder colours.

SEE THE LIGHT

A fresh burst of positivity, this mix of bright colours, tinted neutrals and chalky pastels create a lovely optimistic palette to work with. Here we have powerful colours with more delicate colours playing together and providing a fresh take on colour blocking. This palette is all about positivity.
