Dulux Colour Forecast for 2020
It’s that time of year again, Dulux have released their colour forecast for 2020, and I feel like there is a nice flow on from 2019, with plenty of focus around soft neutrals and muted colour. And a joy for me to see is a real trend towards different shades of green, we saw a slight shift towards this last year, and that’s contuning into 2020. I love designing with colours from nature, you’ll see when I post my own home renovation pictures next month that I used lots of greens, blues, warm timbers and warn greys throughout my home.
So here are the four categories for this year:
Adopting a less is more approach is the empahsis for this scheme. Unclutter your life and live simply without forgoing a beautiful aesthetic. Natural materials that evoke beauty through texture and tactility. These raw materials are combined with cutting edge finishes that only reinforce tactility and texture, making this a scheme that feels grounded, balanced and tranquil.
Comeback combines the eclectic and vintage for a super interesting layered scheme that seems somewhat familiar to us all. Using colours from the past to carve out spaces in your home such as this bright blue brings in a retro cool vibe. This scheme isn’t for the faint hearted when it comes to colour.
Ah the beauty of nature, this is my colour scheme right here. Building a space to retreat to, a space that will nurture and regenerate. This scheme is all about bringing in as much from the natural world into our homes as possible. This is a calm gentle layering of greens to nourish the soul. Cultivate is my favouritre colour palette of them all.
Speaking to our desire to disconnect from our hectic lives, indulge reignites our romance with health and home. This palette is all about surrounding yourself with deep decedant, luxurious colours and rounded forms. Think lots of velvet and chenille. A vivid sunset palette creates a cosy indulgent space.
